With a 3D digital theater, daily programs, and more than 160 hands-on exhibits, there's something for everyone at the Connecticut Science Center. Located just twelve minutes from Montage | Rocky Hill, this nine-story museum keeps visitors busy for hours. Some of what you can see and do includes:
Planet Earth - Discover how Earth is constantly changing and enjoy activities such as digging for fossils, recording your own weather forecast, and feeling gale-force winds in a hurricane simulator.
Sports Lab - As you explore the Sports Lab exhibit, you'll see the equipment professional athletes use, take a speed pitch challenge, build a bike, and participate in a race only using your brain waves.
Forces in Motion - Have you ever wondered what makes a sailboat sail or how far a robot can throw a ball? If so, you will learn the answers at the Forces in Motion exhibit. Highlights include designing and testing your own heli-flyer and tossing a ball with a robot.
Picture of Health - This exhibit answers a variety of health questions. Hands-on activities include playing a high-stress game to see how your body reacts to pressure and putting together a meal to see whether or not you are helping or hurting your health.
Maximilian E. and Marion O. Hoffman Foundation Science Theater - This theater provides an incredible 3D experience and stadium seating. Movies currently showing include Galapagos and Walking with the Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet.
Roaming Railroad - Known as New England's "Nicest Trackless Train," the Roaming Railroad is suitable for all ages. It takes passengers for a ride around the plaza, and a separate is required.
