Have you ever enjoyed a bowl of authentic ramen noodle soup? It's so much more flavorful and filling than the pre-packed type you make at home in the microwave. Ramen-Ya, a new ramen soup restaurant near Rocky Hill, is a great place to try your first bowl.
Ramen Ya just opened earlier this year and the locals can't stop raving about the food. Start your meal with a French press or green tea, the quintessential drink of Asian cuisines. Then, share an order of kimchi or some steamed buns before you dive into piping hot bowls of ramen noodle soup.
There are a few varieties of ramen on the menu at Ramen-Ya. If you like spicy foods, try the Karrakamen, made with a spicy pork base. For something milder, order the Miso ramen, which has a nutty flavor and can even be ordered as a vegetarian entree upon request.
Ramen-Ya has a very personal, welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's mascot, a kitty, is modeled after the owner's cat. They even make their onigri in the shape of little cat heads! Red napkins add a pop of color to the otherwise neutral decor.
You can find Ramen-Ya at 1128 Farmington Ave. in Berlin, CT. This is about a 10-minute drive from Montage Apartments. They're open daily from 11 am - 3 pm for lunch and from 5 pm onwards for dinner.
