Have A Taco Night Near Montage | Rocky Hill

It was in the early 1900s that Mexican migrants came stateside, bringing their delicious food including the taco. They had to adapt to the ingredients offered in the United States and believe it or not, tacos were considered a low-class food until the founding of Taco Bell.

Whether you like crunchy shells or soft ones, make it a taco night at one of these restaurants near Montage | Rocky Hill:

On the Border

On the Border was born after three friends decided to share border-style food with the world. According to the restaurant's website, border-style means mesquite grilled meat, fresh ingredients, hand-pressed tortillas, and sauces made in small batches. In a laid-back atmosphere, guests can enjoy tacos such as brisket, fish, and Southwest chicken.

Puerto Vallarta

This restaurant is known for serving authentic Mexican cuisine in a vibrant atmosphere. Owner Esaul Rodriguez grew up in a small Mexican village and at the age of sixteen with just six dollars in his pocket, he moved to Seattle to work in his uncle's Mexican restaurant. In 1991, Esaul opened the first Puerto Vallarta restaurant in Oregon where he created a place where guests could enjoy his country's culture and delicious meals made from scratch. Today, there are several locations in Connecticut, and guests can enjoy Carne Asada, Tacos Al Carbon, and Tacos Al Pastor.

Besito was founded by restaurateur John Tunney who spent years traveling in Mexico working to better understand its cuisine and people. He believes in giving back, which is why Besito has built school kitchens in San Miguel, Mexico that serve more than 1,500 meals a week to students throughout the school year. The restaurant has received several accolades including being called "excellent" by The New York Times and iron skillet tacos include Pollo, Pastor, and Mixtos.
